Clearwater, FL – June 9, 2020 — Digital Media Solutions (DMS) provided support to one of the hardest hit communities in the country, donating enough food to help feed 430 families in New York City. With help from the office of New York State Senator Brian A. Benjamin and the First Corinthian Baptist Church (FCBC) food pantry, DMS and several selfless volunteers gathered on May 29th to distribute pre-assembled bags of groceries, each providing one week’s worth of food for a family of four.
“What we do today, next week, next month will define who we are and where we go as individuals, and as a company,” said Joe Marinucci, DMS CEO. “This is the time when our generosity and motivation is needed most. DMS believes in leading from the front and inspiring others to drive meaningful change and give back to those in need. I’m proud to see what DMS, alongside Senator Benjamin and the incredible FCBC team, was able to accomplish, and I believe in the powerful impact our team will continue to make.”
DMS also invited local nonprofit, JL Blessings, to join in the relief efforts. Led by Founder Tony Osso, JL Blessings supplied more than 400 bags of essential items, including toilet paper, hand sanitizer and non-perishable snacks. JL Blessings is dedicated to providing the homeless men, women and children in the New York City and New Jersey areas with backpacks filled with bare essentials.
As community members in the NYC area struggle with food scarcity, DMS is eager to further its relief efforts and has committed to partnering with the Office of Senator Benjamin on at least two more food pantry events in 2020. DMS has also continued to encourage other companies and community members to lend a hand and join in supporting the families and communities so desperately in need.
“Every Friday, FCBC provides groceries for families in Harlem,” said Minister Heaven Berhane of FCBC. “We are grateful that on May 29th, we partnered with Digital Media Solutions and Senator Brian Benjamin. Through this effort, we witnessed that, when companies, politicians and community organizations come together, they can enhance the work and deepen impact.”
DMS remains dedicated to becoming the change it wants to see in the world and encouraging others to positively impact their local and global communities. With families and children as one of its core focuses of its meaningful change initiative, DMS has raised funds to benefit children’s organizations, contributed to food pantries, purchased holiday gifts for children in foster care and more. Last year, DMS celebrated the fifth year of the company’s signature annual community engagement program, DMS Season of Giving. Together, through Season of Giving initiatives, Team DMS donated clothing and gifts to children and families in ten communities.
