We wake up on Monday morning, and how do we feel? What do we feel? Why?
What Is Monday Morning???
Monday morning represents the commencement of a new week. When you look this word up you will find a simple definition; it is “the beginning or the start,” according to the dictionary. Each day, each week, each month, quarter, year and decade. There is a commencement. We have beginnings and fresh starts around us all the time.
The question is simple: What are we going to do with this beginning or fresh start?
Here’s A Story For Today:
My kids ordered our food last night. I usually try to eat as healthy as possible. Organic when available. Last night was not one of those nights. Last night, it was Italian night. We ordered from a new place, and the food was not that great. The kids ate simple food, and they were fine. Me… not so much. I got very little sleep, as I was restless most of the night. I finally drifted off around 3am as a result of exhaustion, only to wake up to my 5am alarm exhausted. Talk about a crappy way to commence the week.
In this moment, alone in the dark, I felt weak. As a result of this feeling, fear and doubt crept in. All kinds of negative thoughts started to swirl in my mind.
Normally, I don’t make coffee right away. But, this morning, I changed things up. I sat in a new chair with that coffee and just started to breathe and think. From here, I found a balance and a base. I turned myself around and started to feel a lot better once the coffee kicked in.
I asked myself, “It is Monday, how do you want this week to commence?” I remembered how I like to start the week strong and realized I almost blew it this morning. Thankfully, I was able to cheat my false start with early coffee, and I created a redo. I was feeling much better.

Every Day Is An Opportunity For A Fresh Start, However……. Monday Is Commencement Day For A Whole New Week!
How do you want to start your week?
As I write this email, there are little people sleeping in my house. How do I want to show up for them? They are commencing their week, too. My commencement and their commencement are tied together.
How You Show Up Influences Those Around You At Home, At Work And Throughout Life.
I certainly want my kids to have a positive commencement to their week, so I know I must show up in a positive sense. I found my reset, and I went from a place of fear and doubt to a place of power and certainty on the back of a small change to my routine (different chair, early coffee). I will start the week strong.
You too can always look for that reset so you can commence your day and your week in a positive frame of mind.
Positivity has a profound impact on your life and on the lives of those around you.
