There Is Peace In Neutrality
Over the past couple of months, I have spent a great deal of time thinking in depth about the power of positive thinking. Proven by science, positive thinking can improve your reality and your life.
But what do you do in those moments when positivity doesn’t feel authentic? Find peace in neutrality.
Throughout life, you will experience moments of fear, doubt, anxiety and stress. In those moments, finding positivity doesn’t always feel realistic or authentic. In those moments, finding your neutrality can have a significant impact.
Like in cars, neutral is an in-between point between reverse and forward. Neutral thinking lets you stop your negative thinking, stop retracing negative experiences and stop negative thought patterns that can result in negative outcomes manifesting themselves. Neutral gives you a chance to pause, take a breath and refocus your mind on the new future you’re creating.
In the Ed Mylett podcast, “Destroy Negative Thoughts,” Trevor Moawad, a mental conditioning trainer for elite athletes and business professionals, explains the neutral thinking idea further. Negative thinking, especially when it comes out as spoken negative comments, are 40-50 times more powerful than positive thoughts. Stopping negative thoughts before they have an impact on your life is key to living the life you want.
What’s the first step? Recognize when you are thinking negative things so you can stop yourself in the tracks.
Every moment of every day of every week of every year, you get to choose how you feel about yourself, your life and everything around you. When you feel a negative thought entering your mind, you have the power to stop it. Put yourself in neutral until you’re ready to go positive.
A team stacked with positive thinkers, a team that knows how to stop the negative before it has an impact, that’s not just a team. It’s a force to be reckoned with. Be that force.
