The Lighthouse Always Stands Tall
Recently, I’ve been asking myself questions related to the concept of being indistractable:
- What does indistractable really mean?
- How does presence play into being indistractable?
- What really influences us and causes us to be distracted or not present?
I remember a conversation I had many years ago with my coach. Together, we looked at graphic images of lighthouses in massive storms.
My coach advised me to become so grounded in who I am that I become the lighthouse in the storm. No matter what goes on around me, I will hold my ground and continue to stand tall and shine my light.
Regardless of what the storm brings in… no matter how bad it gets… no matter how big the waves or how strong the wind… the lighthouse stands tall. No matter what.
The lighthouse continues to shine its light for all to see, regardless of what goes on around it.
Like A Lighthouse… Being Indistractable Means Standing Tall. No Matter What.
You stand tall, no matter what is going on around you in life. You hold your personal space, unmoved by whatever it is you face.
You Will Face The Rage Of Storms From Time To Time.
When you feel a storm coming on, remember the image above and imagine that you are that lighthouse, standing tall in the midst of the storm.
It Doesn’t Matter If The Storm Is Big Or Small.
What the storm does to you and your emotions is up to you. When I choose to view myself as the lighthouse, I stand tall and shine my bright light despite what is brewing around me.
Powerful imagery can remind you of what it means to be present and focused, or indistractable. Images that have meaning to you can help you find your power and certainty.
The lighthouse image keeps me grounded, confident, proud and full of positive energy.
For me, the image of the lighthouse is real. It is vivid and strong in my mind. I use the lighthouse image to my benefit when there is a storm raging around me.
I view myself as the lighthouse, and then I stand tall and continue to shine my bright light of positive energy.
