Last night, I couldn’t sleep, which sounds bad, but isn’t always. With no point in resisting the situation, I got up, went outside and sat on my back patio looking at the moon peeking out from the clouds. The sounds of the night are so peaceful, especially when you take the time to slow down and listen to them.
As I sat on my patio last night, I thought about the value of time. Time, like other assets, needs to be protected, its use planned. Think about your serious financial decisions in life and how you plan them. Time is more valuable than money. Planning how you spend your time is as (or more) important than how you plan to spend your money. But we don’t always think about time in that way.
I can only speak to what works for me. I have values, goals and a vision that allow me to live my life with intentional focus, working daily to make progress on my goals and toward my vision.
I plan my days to help maximize the use of my time. Living with intention, for me, is important and necessary, so I organize and plan my time so I can get the most out of every day. I want maximum utilization of my time — for myself, my family, my work and my health and physical well being.
