    Tell Me More About That...

One Of The Most Important Qualities Of Leadership Is The Ability To Actively Listen And Ask Questions

By actively listening and asking questions, leaders gather better information and answers, and they’re able to see new angles and opportunities.

We Develop One Another By Asking Better Questions.

Better questions result in better answers. Better answers help us better understand the challenges and opportunities, bringing us into alignment, which results in better collaboration.

Better Questions >> Better Answers >> Better Understanding >> Better Collaboration

Productive collaboration across Team DMS leads to more progress, more improvements, more opportunity and more growth.

Better Collaboration >> More Progress, Improvements, Opportunity & Growth

How Do You Ask Better Questions?

HOW you ask your questions matters more than WHAT questions you ask.

    1. Be Curious: Don’t do all the talking. Make sure you can hear the needs and feedback from others.
    2. Be Open Ended: Try to avoid yes/no questions. Instead, ask questions that help understand what and how the other person is thinking and feeling.
    3. Be Engaged: Active listening requires you show you care what the other person is saying. Engage through body language. Listen with intent to really understand.
    4. Dig Deeper: Get below the surface using follow-up questions.

We Learn When We Are Listening With The Intent To Understand And Not Just Respond

Active listening is a skill and a muscle that we can each develop. The combination of asking better questions to get better answers while actively listening will make us all better leaders in everything we do.
