We don’t ask “how much can we do?” as that results in practical thinking predicated on what we most recently were able to do.
We ask “what will it take to do X?” We stretch to new possibilities. We build top-down with our big goal in mind, and not bottom-up based on our most recent results.
Practical Thinking >> Possible Thinking >> Impossible Thinking
Look at the projects and initiatives you are involved in and working on and ask yourself “what will it take to 2x (or 10x) this?” The answer might feel impossible, and that’s okay. Actually, that’s good. Sit on it. Think about it. Talk about what is required to make it happen.
I know this to be true, as I have seen it play out time and time again.
