Josh Henney is a Strategic Account Manager for ZipQuote Ignite, where he helps insurance agents turn ZipQuote leads into measurable agency growth. Known for his consultative, relationship-first approach, Josh builds long-term trust by showing up consistently for his agent partners. In this Q&A, Josh shares how he prioritizes his day, where the industry is headed and what drives him personally.
Q: As a Strategic Account Manager working with ZipQuote Ignite agents, how do you prioritize your daily tasks and objectives?
I schedule 30-minute account reviews every hour. These cover a range of topics — sometimes agent-led, sometimes I'm guiding the conversation to uncover valuable information: lead performance, team performance, understanding an agent's office structure and day-to-day operations, making sure agents are getting all the volume they want, recommending potential markets or just strengthening the relationship by asking about life outside of work.
Q: Where do you see the performance marketing/insurance agent industry heading in the next few years?
Consumers shopping online will keep growing, and agents will need to expand their footprint to capture more of that traffic. AI will help streamline the quoting process, but carriers will still need agents and salespeople to communicate with leads and close them.
Q: How is DMS addressing the evolving needs of agents across the ZipQuote Ignite program?
For Ignite, it's about using the strategic account manager role to have more intentional conversations with agents: addressing concerns, reviewing lead performance, making account changes and optimizations and organically strengthening the relationship along the way.
Q: In simple terms, how does ZipQuote actually help agents grow their business?
By providing high-quality leads. ZipQuote has plenty of competitors, but the vendors who stand out are the ones who invest in quality leads for their agent partners.
Q: What is one personal achievement you're particularly proud of?
Becoming a dad has been one of the most rewarding and challenging things to happen to me. It's forced me to be less selfish and more selfless.
