Playing All In Means Taking Advantage Of The Time That’s ThereTo Rest, Relax And Recharge.
This weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, isn’t a moment to get ahead. This weekend is ours to slow down and enjoy time with friends and family so we’re ready next week to re-emerge refreshed and energized.
Yes, I previously looked at other people’s rest days as my days to get ahead.
“Just outwork them,” I thought to myself, thinking their time at rest was my time to take the lead. However, I have realized time off is not best used by keeping score versus someone else.
Time off is about keeping me in the game… and “off days” are invaluable to achieve peak state on my “on days.”
Down Time Is What Keeps Peak Performers Performing At Their Peak.
We must always remind ourselves and those around us to honor our rest days and consider them to be gifts to help us recover and rejuvenate. In fact, small rest periods are scientifically proven to improve productivity and restore mental energy.
There is power in rest, and we must practice taking “off” days with the same commitment we have for our “on” days.
And while this Memorial Day Weekend is our ceremonial “kick off to summer” weekend packed with family, friends, the beach, BBQs, outdoor activities and more… on Memorial Day, let us also remember all those who sacrificed and gave away their comforts and their lives so that we can enjoy 365 days of our lives with our friends, family and loved ones.
Wishing you all a happy Memorial Day Weekend.
